I have homeowners insurance. Why do I need a home service contract ?

Your home owners insurance is hazard insurance. It covers items damaged in fire, flood, wind and natural disasters. A home service contract covers repairs, properly maintained household appliances, and mechanical systems that are covered in your contract.

Do I need a home Inspection before ordering a service contract?

The service begins the day the policy is paid for. There are two options for time of coverage: one year or two years.

What if my appliances are aged?

+

At the time of inspection the appliances were notably aged and at the end of life cycle. We do our best to get parts to repair them. If they are not available, we would do our utmost to find a suitable replacement. If they're not available, we would offer a cash payment for you for the maximum coverage for that item.

What happens if I have a service issue on the weekend?

+

We will get you serviced as soon as possible! If you have an urgent issue like a furnace malfunction in the wintertime, or a sewer blockage causing flooding, we will have someone respond swiftly.

How do I request service?

+

Go to the account center and make a claim 24hrs a day. The call center is open 7 days a week from 8 am-8 pm, Pacific Time Zone.

Is there a service fee?

+

Yes, you are required to pay a $125.00 trade service fee per claim, no matter what the cost of the repair or replacement for your covered item.  This fee is per request.  One request per claim.

My mechanical systems are aged. Are they covered?

+

Yes. The age of the home or its system does not matter. We cover items that are in good working condition that have been properly maintained.

If an item needs to be replaced, and
the replacement unit is unavailable,
what happens?

+

If a covered item that needs to be replaced has become obsolete, we will offer a cash payment for the replacement cost, which may be less than retail.

Is anything not covered?

+

Only items/systems that are marked in good working condition on your home inspection will be covered. If there are any issues with your items/systems at the time of inspection, they will need to be fixed on your own with proof of repair for the item/system to be covered.
